Talk: 3D-Printing of Plastics, Ceramics, Human Organs and Vegetables
Prof. Paul Calvert
Paul is a materials scientist who started using 3D printing approaches in the 1990’s as a way to form biomimetic materials: materials structured like natural bone, tooth and other tissues. He is now retired, but still continues as a “gentleman scientist”. His talk will be a survey of attempts to apply 3D-printing and inkjet printing methods to a wide range of different, and unusual materials and structures.
Paul will be speaking to us via Zoom, from his home and laboratory in New Mexico
